"Birth of Impressionism" exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco.
Two weeks ago I was in San Francisco for a few days and made a stop at the De Young Museum for "Birth of Impressionism"-Masterpieces from the Musée D'Orsay exhibition. It was absolutely breathtaking. If you have an opportunity, you must make your way to the De Young Museum-the "Birth of Impressionism" runs now through September 6th, 2010.
Here are a few other images of work that resonated with me.
Degas- "The Dancing Lesson"
Caillebotte- "The Floor Scrapers"
Renoir- "The Swing"
Here are a few other images of work that resonated with me.

Eye of the Day Garden Design Center Event
Two weeks ago I had the immense pleasure of attending a wonderful event at Eye of the Day Garden Design Center in Carpinteria, California. Luxe Magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Pamela Jaccarino moderated a discussion by Landscape Architects Sydney Baumgartner, Puck Erickson, Katie O'Reilly Rogers and Brent Freitas, Owner of Eye of the Day Garden Design Center. Attendees were served a delicious lunch paired with wine by Foxen Winery.
Following the panel discussion we made our way to Lotusland in Santa Barbara for a private tour of the magnificent estate. Purchased in 1941, at the encouragement of her 6th husband, Madame Ganna Walska began her transition from international socialite to garden designer. Moving through the estate is much like moving from one room to the next, each garden independent from the next creating a range of emotions as one walks the property. A gorgeous and engaging experience. Highly recommended.

Marcie Bronkar's Fabulous Japonaise at Cloth & Paper
When it comes to couture design, hand sketched and handled from conception to production, there are very few designers remaining that can be considered pioneers in the industry. Marcie Bronkar is one of them. After more than 20 years in the industry and becoming the mastermind behind the home collections of leading designers such as Paloma Picasso, she has placed herself as one of the most sought after home collection designers in the country.
Marcie's most recent textile, Japonaise, was inspired from an antique document featuring a phoenix bird. This woven masterpiece is completely reversible and available in five seductive colorways. Textiles of this significance and quality have made Marcie Bronkar a jewel in the industry, and have left us wanting more. Her latest work can be found in her Design Salon on Larchmont Boulevard in Los Angeles.
